As you may be able to tell from the pictures in the opening page of this site, timeZarrow (as well as the website) has undergone a transformation since this section was last updated almost two years ago. Tom Bell left again during the Spring of 2004 to concentrate on his interest in film-making, and Ian Downey moved on to join Pilgrim around the same time.

We added Jim Dewey (who is also our webmaster) on rhythm guitar and vocals several months later. Jim is the guy you see doing the lighting for a number of local shows, including ours. He recently did some work at Nelson's Ledges Quarry Park, and is doing lighting for some members of Ekoostik Hookah this week. He is also the host for the Miafest and Jimboree festival events held at his bucolic home south of Nashville (OH) or at Beck's campground in Wooster.

It took us quite a while after that to find another drummer. Jerry Osborn re-joined us briefly on drums, but wasn't interested in playing drums long-term (his main instrument is actually sax, which he can be heard playing on Lounge Lizards in our downloadable song selections). Ian Witt found us this past February via an ad I had placed on the Harmony Central classifieds , and is a welcome addition holding down the drumming spot. Since he is our second drummer named "Ian", his nick-name in the band is "Number2" or "The Deuce". Ian also writes songs, plays guitar, and sings, heading up his own band, Starkweather Lane, which played at the recent Miafest. TimeZarrow intends to incorporate some of Ian's material into our repertoire sometime soon. Ian is also skilled at recording and mixing, and will be a key player in our upcoming recording efforts.

Since February, we have been rehearsing and have begun to play out, starting with an acoustic show at The Village Inn in Chippewa Lake a few months ago, and more recently Miafest, and last Saturday again at The Village Inn but in full electric format. We have been gratified by the responses we've received so far, and are now looking to fill out our schedule and play out on a regular basis (next date is this Thursday 7/21/05 at Akron's Club R/E, opening for Greenleif). Check the site often for updates, and/or send us your e-mail address to be included on our e-mail notifications list.

The long-awaited timeZarrow full-length cd is now in the can, and once the cover art, etc. has been finished, we'll be having copies produced for sale. George and Dave are the only current members appearing on the cd, though, so we'll be launching work on another cd featuring the current line-up very soon.

We have been invited by Burrs of Escape Goat to participate in a cybercast which will happen sometime over Fall or Winter this year. We will keep you updated as to when that will be.

Be sure to check out the new features and links on the website, including a message forum dedicated to timeZarrow which Jim has set up. Join for free (of course) and post your comments and questions, as well as reading those of others as more folks discover the board, as I did recently.

Hope to see you at a show soon!

For those of you who don't know, Jerry Osborn recently left the band, and shortly afterwords Tom Bell re-joined to contribute his material and to help keep things going. Literally a day after this the band pulled in close friend Dave Vargo, to take over the bass, and to complete the band for this years Miafest show. Dave did an exceptional job, learning over fifteen songs in only a few days. Now the band is finishing their latest studio project and preparing for the rest of their summer shows. The band wishes Jerry Osborn the best of luck for the future.

Fresh out of surgery (everything went well), I am pleased to announce the band will be playing:

The Lime Spider
207 South Main St.
Akron OH 44308

Time: Midnight!
Date: Friday, May 9th
Cover: Typically $5

For anyone not familiar with The Lime Spider, it is now the premier spot in Akron to see the best local up-and-coming original bands as well as mid-level regional and national touring acts. Check out their website. They have a great selection of domestic and imported beers (with nice monthly specials), a very nice high stage, and a fantastic sound system. Akronites will remember it as the site of the old Mr. Bilbo's, which some of my friends were wont to frequent. You won't believe what they've done with the place!

We will be preceded on stage by The House Popes, who some may remember as one of the bands I jammed with last year on fiddle. Their website can be found here. These guys draw from a multitude of musical sources, use a wide variety of instruments, and have a unique sound that you will love. They have an array of dynamite originals and also some great covers you won't hear from your neighborhood bar band. So come early (they will start about 10:15), and take in both bands. I may sit in on fiddle for a song or two, but we'll see.

The Popes will bring in a nice crowd for this gig, but many of them will leave after their sets, so we need to get the word out to as many of our fans and friends as possible to fill the house for the midnight show. This is a place we want to play on a regular basis, and if you check it out you'll see why. The sure way for us to be invited back is to have lots of people show up and drink lots of beer (or your beverage of choice).

We will have copies of our new 4-song EP (what I have previously been calling the "demo"), Time Flies, available for sale at the show. This will be packaged with original artwork by Tom Bell.
